semaphore - C - Server/Client Tic-Tac-Toe Game - Read/Write index file? -
i have both client , server programs allow users connect server , play tic-tac-toe. however, ran wall how implement sort of user record storage system server. mean is:
when player connects server asked if new player...if want create new player record consists of username, first, , last name , record of wins/losses , ties (i know how this). written index file. when existing player connects server, enter username , server scan index file player record , retrieve it. (not sure how accomplish this)
when 2 consecutive players form game, opponent's record displayed before game starts. having trouble... how scan index file exisiting username , retrieve records. want display opponents records eachother before game starts.
i have code pain post read through. i've heard maybe semaphores or shared memory might solve questions?

yeah figured might case...i wondering if possibly without doing so...like strictly using read/writes
you want use database this. i'd recommend going sqlite.
