android - How should I validate an e-mail address? -

what's technique validating e-mail address (e.g. user input field) in android? org.apache.commons.validator.routines.emailvalidator doesn't seem available. there other libraries doing included in android or have use regexp?

don't use reg-ex.

apparently following reg-ex correctly validates e-mails addresses conform rfc 2822, (and still fail on things "user@gmail.com.nospam", org.apache.commons.validator.routines.emailvalidator)

possibly easiest way validate e-mail send confirmation e-mail address provided , it bounces it's not valid.

if want perform basic checks check it's in form *@*

if have business logic specific validation perform using regex, e.g. must gmail.com account or something.
