Required skills for a senior level ActionScript/Flex developer -


i'm looking take actionscript knowledge next level , i've been having trouble finding takes become senior level developer. searching has i've come far:

  • component creation
  • memory usage debugging/profiling
  • as specific usage of oop
  • correct use of code-behind
  • accessing remote data
  • flex architecture frameworks
  • component lifecycle

those topics i've been able find(**now updated answers*). resources on mastering topics have been hard come by(i.e. common design patterns, etc). may not searching correctly, here appreciated. focus on flex specific development.

currently i've found here , here similar questions i've been able find. appreciated, though i'm looking specific examples of how learn these techniques.

in opinion list mid or high level developer. senior developer should able of plus:

  • knowledge of various frameworks , things dependency injection
  • ability mentor and/or train lower level developers
  • very strong oop knowledge ability architect applications ground up
  • ability communicate non-technical "customers" (mangers, marketing, sales, smes, clients, etc.)

of course every job have different definition of senior developer should know.

with said, few ideas on find info looking for:

twitter - start following evangelists, branch off there. lots of great knowledge passes by.

blogs - again can start evangelists, find can learn blogs. search google topic, dig links.

for component creation, know component life cycle in , out, , learn performance pitfalls things item renderers , display list.

for design patterns (oop) there plenty of info, can 2 things. 1. http://www.as3dp.com/ start. 2. read design patterns in java (java head first book). java , actionscript similar structural standpoint.

there isn't ton of info on profiling, searching google , reading can best can before diving in head first.

probably important thing can practice, ask questions, listen , learn. alway improve way.
