iphone - UILocalNotification alternative for iOS3 -


i building iphone application , want use uilocalnotification schedule alarm event. problem uilocalnotification works ios4, , want try , make application compatible ios3 too.

i have found way detect if uilocalnotification available on given ios version. wondering if there alternative uilocalnotification can used on iphone ios3 schedule alarm or notification.

push notification option.

they requires network connection, server of own , way more complicated implement local notification way go in ios 3.
