information theory - Any theoretical limit to compression? -


imagine had supercomputers in world @ disposal next 10 years. task compress 10 full-length movies losslessly as possible. criteria normal computer should able decompress on fly , should not need spend of hd install decompressing software.

my question is, how more compression achieve best alternatives today? 1%, 5%, 50%? more specifically: there theoretical limit compression, given fixed dictionary size (if called video compression well)?
