rich web application (with AJAX) frameworks that integrate with Java -

there few questions approach answer question, none helped me out.

i have web application back-end written in spring/java has web 1.0 interface, build richer more interactive version of site using ria (rich internet application) framework.

i keen on ria frameworks support layout managers ui component libraries. (as find myself wondering why div in wrong place, or has wrong border etc, , not web ux person;-)

i have previous experience using eclipse rap framework, , while worked quite nicely, restrictive , tiny bit buggy.

i have listed following frameworks, experiences , see answers on whether correct in assessment, , other suggestions or fuller information.

cons:

• it seems theme-ing must difficult implementations "extjs"
• as want use java bind ui components integration important

• the status of various gwt integrated products quite confused

• jsf can considered standard
• richfaces has great support , integrates jsf
• richfaces has sorts of handy gui components

cons:

• steep learning curve jsf
• performance of both jsf , richfaces not incredible. use wisely (not 1000 concurrent sessions)
• no layout manager, need down , dirty divs , css
