sockets - iPhone to device via Wifi -


i have embedded hardware device broadcasts data via bluetooth. don't want go through steps of mfi program, i'm thinking using different chip in device broadcast same data via wifi/udp.

it understanding in case thing need sockets , bonjour discovery.

my question is: need third device in equation (a wireless router 2 devices connected)? or can 2 devices establish sort of ad hoc network?

pointers appreciated.
