When did colspan and rowspan become available for usage in HTML tables? -


a co-worker , curious when colspan , rowspan became available usage in html tables.

we tried google , wikipedia, answer still seems elude us.

i thought might have been since html 2, or early-to-mid-90s, insists wasn't until 2000 or later....

rfc 1942 introduced tables in may 96, rfc includes rowspans earliest official document implementing them.
