internet explorer - htc files: Why not to use them? -

i developing web application aims give desktop feeling end user. means need cross-browser feeling application (who doesn't? eheh).

so, found .htc files, working around ie tweaks (doesn't support border-radius yet, example). doubt is: why isn't using them? come problems ignoring? place seeing, appears holy grail front-end programmers...

quoting wikipedia:

html components (htcs) nonstandard mechanism implement components in script dynamic html (dhtml) "behaviors"[1] in microsoft internet explorer web browser. such files typically use .htc extension.

an htc typically html file (with jscript / vbscript) , set of elements define component. helps organize behavior encapsulated script modules can attached parts of webpage dom.

in 2 paragraphs, following mentioned:

  • internet explorer
  • jscript
  • vbscript
  • nonstandard

i think it's obvious why not using technology.
